The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is one of the world's most important festivals for animation and cartoons. For over 30 years, it has brought together filmmakers, students, industry experts, and an enthusiastic audience to celebrate the diversity of animated film. The festival focuses on artistic animation, featuring short and feature film competitions, innovative and transmedia works, and the promotion of emerging talent. BIG Cinema has been enthusiastically supporting the ITFS since 2016.

Every spring, artists, animation enthusiasts, and the animation industry gather here in an inspiring festival atmosphere to shape the future of animated storytelling. Whether discovering award-winning films, meeting their creators, acquiring new knowledge in lectures and workshops, or networking with experts and talents: this festival offers the latest industry trends and numerous networking opportunities. A special highlight: selected animated films are shown free of charge on a large screen in Schlossplatz, the green oasis in the heart of the city, seamlessly blending the festival atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of Stuttgart's city center.

Whether hand-drawn, digitally animated or stop-motion - animation thrives on attention to detail, color intensity and perfection in the image. Our job is to ensure that every film is brought to the screen in the best possible quality. To ensure this we provide DCP Mastering and Quality Control to guarantee flawless reproduction.
All-round service for smooth processes
A festival of this size requires high technical and structural standards - and we make sure that everything runs smoothly. Our On-site Support Team is always available to answer technical questions, supply cinemas with screening copies or respond immediately in an emergency. Before the beginning of the festival, we set up our mobile studio in the center of Stuttgart so that the distances to the innenstadt.kinos remain short. This allows us to guarantee maximum efficiency and flexibility at the same time. In addition, the festival retains the workflow that has been worked out for the entire period. Our KDM Management ensures that all digital keys are transmitted to the venues on time and can be decrypted without delay.
Live show control for a synchronized experience
The ITFS is a lively festival. Events such as panels, award ceremonies or countless presentations with changing moderators require a high degree of precision. Our Live Show Control ensures seamless transitions between film blocks, presentations and live moderations. We ensure that image, sound and content are perfectly coordinated - for a smooth audience experience. In addition to several shows in the cinemas, we also provide a presentation stage in the MELA Cafe with a live image mix.

Based on our many years of experience and modern technical solutions, we are proud to support the ITFS Stuttgart as a reliable partner. In close coordination with the festival management, Technical Staff immediately integrate daily feedback into our workflow. We implement change requests and adjustments to the festival schedule immediately and efficiently. Because: animation deserves perfection - in every projection, in every performance.
